Located in a pre-war shop lot along Jalan Sultan, Jao Tim is a small wedding venue in KL that evokes a strong sense of nostalgia on entry. 4. Rumah Tangsi
Steeped in history and colonial charm, having Rumah Tangsi as your small wedding venue means you’ll be celebrating your union in one of KL’s time capsules. Originally built in 1907 as the home of businessman Loke Chow Kit, the Neo-Classical building was meticulously restored in 2012 before it reopened its doors as an event space.
Today, the entire mansion—main hall, foyers, courtyards, and all—is said to fit up to 350 people. While there’s no need to occupy the entire space all at once, you could break up your wedding proceedings (tea ceremony, exchanging of vows, and reception, for example) into different rooms.

Tucked away along Lorong Ampang opposite Jalan Tun H. S. Lee, The Godown is an art space that holds potential as a small wedding venue in the Klang Valley. On top of the rustic Main Hall, which accommodates up to 150 people, there’s also a semi-open air building with a second floor space (pictured above) that’s ideal for private receptions and dinners for up to 40 guests. Just keep in mind that moving rental furniture to the second floor will be a bit of a chore, though not impossible.
