Every year in the days leading up to Halloween, Sunway Lagoon plays host to Klang Valley’s most elaborate scare-fest: Nights of Fright Sunway. For a couple of weeks, ghouls, spirits, and fiends descent upon the famous theme park at sundown to terrify attendees. And after a two-year absence because of the pandemic, the diabolic floodgates that were once shut are now set to re-open. In other words, Nights of Fright 8 (NOF8) in 2022 is a go!
What Is Nights of Fright?
A combined effort between Sunway Lagoon and Lynton V Harris of Scream Park fame, Nights of Fright is an annual Halloween event featuring thematic haunted houses, live shows, and unique amusement rides. In addition to the main attractions, there are also dining spaces, merchandise kiosks, and photo booths—all horror-themed of course.
The atmosphere at Nights of Fright Sunway is festival-like as attendees dressed in their Halloween best roam the park. Partying with the living dead has never been so fun.
What’s In Store For Sunway’s Nights of Fright 8?
While details are scarce, Sunway Lagoon has teased that 2022’s Nights of Fright will consist of 8 haunted houses, 1 haunted theatre, 2 scare zones, 11 thrill rides, and 3 show stages. We don’t know what these attractions will entail but based on the names (The Harvest and Blood.Shed.2 are standouts), we’re certain they’ll be enough to send even the strongest men down to their knees.
Separately, many of Sunway Lagoon’s attractions like the Grand Canyon River Rapids and Pirate’s Revenge will operate as usual, in case you need a break from the afterlife.
The scale of Nights of Fright 8 is comparable to the 2019 edition. Similarly, NOF7 had 8 creepy haunted houses, 2 bone-chilling scare zones, 11 thrilling rides, 2 show stages and 1 terrifying haunted theatre.
