Despite some hiccups—like the cancellation of the highly-anticipated Justin Bieber concert—we still had some great acts such as Billie Eilish, LANY, and JJ Lin dropping by and putting on great shows for local fans. But goodbye 2022 and hello 2023! We have some killer acts lined up to perform here and it is already shaping up to be a banger year for live concert entertainment! 2023 couldn’t ask for a better start with the king of mandopop himself, Jay Chou, finally bringing his pandemic-delayed Carnival World Tour to Malaysia. Jay’s fans would know all about his concerts that deliver extravagant visual feasts and top showmanship. Besides crooning his all-time greats, fans can also look forward to him performing magic tricks!

2. Ne-Yo Live In Malaysia

Who’s sick of hearing So Sick? Just kidding. Ne-Yo’s breakout hit had everyone crooning to it at one time and that was in 2006. How time flies! The Grammy-winning R&B star is set to make his Malaysian comeback 12 years after his 2010 concert at Sunway Lagoon (anyone still remembers that?). He will also be stopping by Indonesia and the Philippines on his Asia tour dates.

Yes, it has been 20 long years since the four-member British boyband debuted, blessing us with hits that include One Love, Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word, and Guilty. The group is still actively making music! In fact, their sixth and latest studio album, Heart & Soul was released in September 2022. Blue last performed in Malaysia in 2019.

4. Mayday Fly To 2023 World Tour

Whenever Taiwanese evergreen megaband Mayday comes to town, their concerts are always packed to the roof! Returning to Malaysia after rocking Stadium Merdeka in 2017, Mayday’s legion of fans here will not want to give this concert a miss. After all, who knows how much longer will they go on with their musical career, considering it has been 24 years since their debut!

5. Mamamoo My Con World Tour

The popular four-member K-pop girl group will be touring Asian countries in early 2023, with Kuala Lumpur being one of their stops besides Singapore, Jakarta, and Manila. This will be their first-ever concert on our shores, so be sure to grab your chance to catch the girls known for their powerful vocals and infectious hits.

A testament to Blackpink’s sheer popularity, the biggest Kpop concerts in Malaysia in 2023 has seen pre-sale tickets fully snapped out just days after they went on sale, despite the prices scaling an eye-watering RM1,888! The quartet will be bringing their bangers to our shores for the second time after slaying the local stage in 2019.

9. Sting: My Songs

Despite being 72 years of age, Sting is still making music and touring. The former The Police bassist is still actively releasing studio albums, with his latest being 2021’s The Bridge. With decades-long worth of singles, this will be a concert worth attending for those growing up listening to his music. Fun fact: Sting returns to Malaysia 18 years after last performing here in 2005!
