Here’s Why The Xiaomi Mi 11 Might Just Be The Best Flagship Smartphone Under RM3,000

After several months of waiting, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is finally in Malaysia. The flagship Mi series is ever-popular among users in search of a power-packed smartphone with a very competitive price tag. The Mi 11—first unveiled to the world in December 2020—certainly lives up to that reputation. It would not be too far-fetched to say that the Mi 11 is perhaps the best flagship phone you can purchase for under RM3,000 at the moment. Want to know why? Keep reading!

4 Reasons Why The Xiaomi Mi 11 Stands Out As A Flagship Smartphone

It Packs Some Of The Most Powerful Specs In The Market

Do you know that the Xiaomi Mi 11 is the first smartphone in the world to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 888? The fastest mobile chipset in the industry today (alongside Apple’s A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12 series) will feature in all the top Android flagship smartphones in 2021 before Qualcomm announces its successor towards the end of the year.

At the time of writing, only the Mi 11 and a few other smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S21 series boast of having the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Hence, if you want a Snapdragon 888 phone right now and before more flagship phones are being released in the coming months in Malaysia, the Xiaomi Mi would be the best budget pick.

Aside from that, the Mi 11 also packs 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

It Has One Of The Most Gorgeous Smartphone Displays

Not content with giving users a humongous 6.81-inch quad-curved display, Xiaomi has also sprinkled some magic dust on the Mi 11’s screen that has earned it an A+ rating from DisplayMate and sets 13 new records along the way. The AMOLED display pushes WQHD+ ultra-high resolution with 3200×1440 pixels. It also features HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 1,500 nits.

Another sought-after feature that the Mi 11’s display has is a 120Hz refresh rate. With a high refresh rate, not only will things look ultra-smooth on screen, but it’ll make for a much better gaming experience too. The latter is complemented with an industry-leading 480Hz touch sampling rate in the display. The screen will respond to your actions faster than ever as a result.

All that screen goodness is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus. It is two times more scratch-resistant than Gorilla Glass 6 and is the toughest Gorilla Glass yet.

It Boasts High-Level Photo and Video Capturing

In terms of the number of cameras packed inside a phone, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is rather conservative compared to the many other devices offering four or five lenses. It only has three on the back. The primary camera is a 108MP shooter alongside a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP “telemacro” camera.

Xiaomi is touting the Mi 11 to be a mini movie-maker in your pocket. The camera software includes eight cinematic filters and a One-Click AI Cinema feature.

The Mi 11 is also very adept at shooting in low-light settings. Ultra Night Video uses RAW-level AI real-time noise reduction and brightness enhancement to improve lighting for brighter night videography. Together with HDR10+ video recording, the phone is more than capable of capturing awesome-looking videos.

It Gives You A Worry-Free Battery Package

With a plenty big 4,600mAh battery in its slim and lightweight body, you can be sure that the Xiaomi Mi 11 will chug on for a day or two. It also supports 55W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. In fact, 45 minutes is all it takes to fill up the battery when charging with a cable. As for wireless charging, it takes just a little longer at 53 minutes. The device also has 10W reverse wireless charging, which you can use to power up other smaller devices like wireless earbuds

At a time when a growing number of smartphone manufacturers are starting a movement to do away with charger adapters in the box and citing environmental reasons for their actions, Xiaomi will (still) be including one with every purchase of the Mi 11 in Malaysia. And it’s no ordinary charger—it is a 55W GaN charger, which you can use to power even laptops and consoles!

Xiaomi Mi 11 Price And Availability In Malaysia

In Malaysia, the Xiaomi Mi 11 retails at RM2,799 for the 128GB storage model and RM2,999 if you go for the 256GB configuration. Three colour options are available: Midnight Gray, Cloud White, and Horizon Blue.

The phone is now available for purchase at authorised retailers in the country. You can also find it offered by sellers on Shopee Malaysia.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Released In Malaysia Is Looking Like The Top Flagship Killer Of 2021

It is hard not to be impressed with the Xiaomi Mi 11’s specs for that kind of price tag. We have not even touched upon some of its other notable features such as 5G support, Harman Kardon speakers, and an in-display heart rate monitor. The phone is not without its shortcomings though—it does not come with a certified IP rating and a headphone jack.

No smartphone is ever perfect, but with the Mi 11 now in Malaysia, Xiaomi has a close-to-perfection flagship killer that pulls the rug from under the more-expensive premium smartphones in the local market.
