The new non-pro iPhone models get a couple of welcome additions that only the Pro users get to enjoy in the past year. The biggest update is the addition of the Dynamic Island, which brings to an end the notch era for the iPhone. The most eye-catching upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the use of a titanium frame, the first on an iPhone. Titanium is not only a stronger and more durable material but also lighter, which helps improve the usability of the Pro models on hand. On top of that, it alleviates the fingerprint-magnet problem that is notorious on stainless steel phones.
Also saying goodbye is the ring/silent switch, an ever-present since the very first generation of iPhone, which has been replaced by an Action button. The customisable button lets you quickly launch your favourite app of choice or perform a task with just a click, like firing up the camera or turning on the rear flashlight. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to toggle silent mode by long-pressing the button.
Of course, the Pro models also get the a brand new and the fastest chipset, the A17 Pro, with a heavy emphasis on gaming performance. Users will be able to play actual console games like Resident Evil Village and Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the devices.
