It’s been a long time coming, but Southeast Asia’s most anticipated theme park in recent memory, Genting SkyWorlds, is officially open for business. Developed across a 26-acre land, the sprawling location features 26 rides and attractions based on popular blockbusters of the 21st century, such as Planet of the Apes, Night at the Museum, Independence Day, and Ice Age. If you’re planning a day trip, it’s likely you won’t be able to try out every single ride—this is where we come in. Below are the best eight rides to experience.
Is The Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Ready? Yes, And Don’t Miss Out On These Rides
While this is not an exhaustive list, it’s a good place to start if you don’t know which rides to go on.
Terraform Tower Challenge
Andromeda Base’s Terraform Tower Challenge is hard to miss. Standing high above ground with deafening screams pouring out from it, this monolithic machine is the ride of choice if you’re expecting thrills of the highest order at the Genting SkyWorlds theme park. Find your courageous mates, strap in, and get ready to be vertically shot up and down the tower at lightning speed.

ESD Global Defender
Also in Andromeda Base is the ESD Global Defender, a stomach-churning ride that aims to replicate the adventures of an aerospace fighter. Pick your floorless vessel and get ready to spin in circles, pushing you higher and higher upwards as if you’re prepping to be shot into space. And just when you think it’s over, the ride takes it up a notch. We don’t recommend a heavy meal beforehand.

Alpha Fighter Pilots
Can’t get enough of soaring, sky-high rides? At the Alpha Fighter Pilots, you play the role of an aspiring pilot as your mental and physical states are put to the test through stimulating twists and turns. Wombly feet and arms await as you disembark, but it’ll all be worth it in the end.

Night at the Museum: Midnight Mayhem
Based on the popular movie franchise starring Ben Stiller, Genting SkyWorlds’ Night at the Museum: Midnight Mayhem is located in Central Park. This exhilarating 3D interactive ride teams up with the museum’s faithful night guards as you traverse through the location, fending off unruly exhibits from wreaking havoc. The ride is a perfect balance of family-friendly adventures and mild-levelled scares, perfect for calming your nerves (and stomach) after the ESD.

Independence Day: Defiance
An alien invasion is imminent and it’s up to you, brave space cadet, to stop it. Prove you have what it takes with Independence Day: Defiance, a gripping galactic endeavour that will have you battling extraterrestrial forces at the Genting SkyWorlds theme park. After entering a dark and cold dome theatre, you’ll be buckled into a flight motion-simulated seat. As you take off, the seat shifts, jerks, and throws you around to mimic the actions of a spacecraft in battle. Who says saving the world isn’t fun?

Sid’s Rock ‘N’ Slide
This iconic family-friendly log ride is based on the adventures of everyone’s beloved sloth, Sid. Get comfortable in an oversized log while it rocks backwards and forwards, even occasionally turning full circle! It’s an attraction exciting enough for adults and kids alike.

Bigweld’s Zepellin
Kids get to have fun too! Families with little ones will come to love Robots Rivet Town, a fictional robot-populated location with fun rides. The Bigweld’s Zepellin, for example, is a soaring ride that takes you and your kid to the sky at a reasonable speed. At the top, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of Robots Rivet Town.

River Town Roller
Nestled under Bigweld’s Zepellin is River Town Roller, a spinning ride that takes you on a topsy-turvy route over humps and bumps. This ride has more thrills as compared to Bigweld’s Zepellin, so please ensure your kid isn’t susceptible to motion sickness before allowing them on board.

Apart From Rides, What Else Is There At The Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park?
The theme park is also home to ample food and drinks facilities, ranging from steakhouses and Chinese restaurants to confectionary stands and dessert stalls. Gift shops are aplenty should you wish to bring a memento or two back home. Meanwhile, Central Park hosts concerts and fountain light shows. There’s so much to see and do; having an itinerary will definitely help to make full use of your time here.
