For the first time since 2011, there was no Galaxy Note device announced. But there was still a lot that came out from the latest Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event which saw the company unveil a slew of exciting new products that will define the tech space for the months ahead. There’s plenty to unpack (pun intended), so let’s get you right up to speed!
4 New Product Reveals From The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 Event
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
The popular Galaxy Note series may no longer be around (for now), but its spirit continues to live on as Samsung brings the S Pen experience to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the star of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, and the next chapter of the company’s foldable innovation.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 succeeds 2020’s Galaxy Z Fold 2, and it brings several notable upgrades to the table. Aside from compatibility with the stylus, the new foldable phone is also the lightest and toughest yet as it features 80% increased durability. Also, for the first time, the Samsung foldable is IPX8 water-resistant and has an under-display front camera that vanishes from the screen when not in use to provide an uninterrupted viewing experience.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
Samsung’s other foldable phone keeps the same stylish, flexible, and compact form factor but added in a couple of niceties.
There’s now a two-tone colour scheme and a cover screen that is 40% larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 2, which lets users see and do more without unfolding the phone. Together with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, it is currently one of only two waterproof foldable phones in the industry.
Making a return is Flex Mode, which allows the phone to be used in fun new ways when it is semi-unfolded. Samsung touted the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as its most stylish phone yet, and few can disagree with its chic design and shape that slips effortlessly into the tightest of jean pockets.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Series
The latest iteration of Samsung’s smartwatch series was also announced during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, which sees some of its most significant changes yet. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are the first smartwatches to run on the new Wear OS that the company jointly developed with Google.
At the heart of the Galaxy Watch 4 is Samsung’s new BioActive Sensor. The 3-in-1 sensor powers three health sensors—Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis—which enable the smartwatches to monitor the wearers’ blood pressure, measure their blood oxygen level, detect an AFib irregular heartbeat, and calculate their body composition.
The smartwatches also feature Samsung’s brand new One UI Watch, which further tightens the Galaxy ecosystem by enabling them to interact with other Galaxy devices more seamlessly.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2
After blessing us with some of the best wireless earbuds in recent times in the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung finally gives the original Galaxy Buds a timely upgrade and it was duly unveiled at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 features dynamic two-way speakers that promise to deliver clear high notes as well as deep bass. Active Noise Cancellation is also a major feature, which has turned into a must-have for every top pair of wireless earbuds in the market. Meanwhile, Auto Switch lets it toggle audio between a connected phone and watch automatically, depending on usage.
Samsung has also made its smallest and lightest earbuds yet in the Buds 2. It has a rated listening time of up to 7.5 hours (and up to 29 hours with the charging case).
