The Redmi series has been a mainstay in the smartphone market for almost a decade now. The once Xiaomi sub-brand offers everything from entry-level phones and mid-range phones to high-end phones at ultra-competitive prices. Since branching out as an independent brand in 2019, Redmi continues to release attractively-priced phones to the masses. Their latest\u2014the Redmi Note 10 5G and <\/span>Redmi Note 10S<\/span>\u2014have recently made their way to the Malaysian market, and here\u2019s what you need to know about the devices.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time of writing, the Redmi Note 10 5G is one of the cheapest 5G <\/span>phones<\/span><\/a> you can buy in Malaysia for just under RM800. Let\u2019s take a closer look at what it has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Redmi Note 10 5G has a 6.5-inch display that pushes a Full HD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution. Like many phones released in 2021, it takes advantage of the high refresh rate screen technology. Scrolling and animations will look and feel buttery smooth on its 90Hz display.<\/span><\/p>\n

The chipset powering this phone is the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, the same one that you can find inside the likes of the <\/span>Poco M3 Pro 5G<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>realme 8 5G<\/span><\/a>. It boasts the \u201cDual SIM Dual 5G standby\u201d feature, which enables the device to have two active <\/span>SIM cards<\/span><\/a> running on the 5G network.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the photography department, Redmi curiously left out an ultrawide lens in the triple-<\/span>camera<\/span><\/a> array. Instead, you get a combo of a 48MP primary camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, an 8MP camera will take care of all your <\/span>selfie<\/span><\/a> and video calling needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rounding up the key specs is a 5,000mAh <\/span>battery<\/span><\/a> that fast charges at 18W, with Redmi generous enough to include a 22.5W charger in the box.<\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to the Redmi Note 10 5G, the <\/span>Redmi Note 10S<\/span> swapped 5G support with a smattering of better hardware.<\/span><\/p>\n

It sports a slightly smaller display at 6.43-inch but looks better thanks to its AMOLED panel. Unfortunately, it loses the 90Hz high refresh rate feature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Processor-wise, Redmi has opted for the MediaTek Helio G95. On paper, the chipset should give a boost to <\/span>gaming<\/span><\/a> performance with its MediaTek HyperEngine Gaming Technology that promises fast and smooth action through whole-device enhancements.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is glaringly missing on the Redmi Note 10 5G is retained on the <\/span>Redmi Note 10S<\/span>. We are referring to the ultrawide camera, of course. Along with the standard 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor, the latter also has a higher-resolution 64MP primary camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battery capacity is the same at 5,000mAh, but this phone takes even less time to charge up with 33W fast charging. You will be able to take advantage of the speedier charging straight out of the box with its included 33W <\/span>charger<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also worth mentioning that this device has dual stereo speakers<\/a>\u2014which the Redmi Note 10 5G lacks\u2014and a better 13MP selfie camera.<\/span><\/p>\n
